Security + Update

My initial timeline for the Security + was to study in February and March and take it in early April, but as usual life has happened and I had to reschedule. March proved to be a busier month than I anticipated and between going out of town for a weekend, celebrating my wife’s birthday, and life events like looking into buying a house soon. I just didn’t feel comfortable in my ability to pass the exam so I pushed it off until late may. Not to mention that I’ve been busier at work than I was back in February and that cut into my time to study a little bit as well. All that being said, I’m not discouraged. I still have things that I know I need to sit down and just read a thousand times like certain cryptographic standards and their key size, regulations like GDPR and things like what are the data owners, data stewards, and the like. I’m also entering into the phase of needing to do a ton of practice exams. I’ve taken a few and seem stuck at the 80% mark. A coworker of mine gave me a good idea though, to take all the questions that I miss on the exams and make a new exam out of it. I’ll probably do that with Quizlet or Anki flashcards. Anki is pretty neat since it does a timed repetition so you learn it better supposedly. It’s also got a mobile app that’s free on Android.
